Deuteronomy 6:6-7a - "And these words which I command you today shall be
in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children,"
God's Word tells us that parents have the primary responsibility to
train their children "diligently" in the discipline and instruction of
His Word. As children's ministers we will use Bible study, verse
memorization, practical application, and fellowship to reinforce and
support the Biblical training they receive at home. Our Children's
Ministry servants have all completed a Child Protection Class and desire
to serve the Lord through this ministry. |

 "Cutting it Straight"
- As a young girl learning how to sew I wanted to take short cuts to get
the task completed quickly. I learned early that unless I used a
pattern, pinned it properly and cut on the pattern line I did not cut a
straight line which resulted in a garment that did not fit properly.
The same is true with growing in the knowledge of God's Word. God
gave us His Living Word to be our pattern, and teachers to train us with
the goal of becoming more like Christ. So how does this look in
Children's Ministry? In the coming year we will be studying the Old
Testament, learning how God used men to bring glory to our Father. Our
servants will teach the Bible lesson on Sunday morning, re-teach that
same lesson on Wednesday evenings to enhance understanding, provide
hands on activities to show children how to apply their lives, and Bible
memorization. We will be memorizing the same passage the adults are
learning from Memory Minute. In order to cut straight you need a
pattern, (Jesus Christ) a starting point, (today) and always keep your
eye on the finish line otherwise your line will wander and become
crooked (Philippians 3:14).
