Family, Love & Life Classes
at FFC
September 19 & 26, October 3 & 10 |
|
|
The WNY area is a wonderful place to live. There’s interesting weather,
exciting opportunities, and lots of great people. However, it only
takes one look to recognize that people in our communities have
significant needs: Single parents struggling to raise their kids;
Children in need of adults that provide a godly role model; Families
struggling to solve problems and stay together; Lonely or depressed
senior citizens in need of companionship.
FFC’s theme for 2007 is “Deliberate Discipleship,” part of
which includes finding relevant ways to extend the hope of Jesus Christ
to meet the needs of those around us. God has given the church Biblical
authority and resources, organized and developed into practical Biblical
direction for very real issues in our lives and the lives of those in
our community. That can bring about the dawning of a new day of
preventive counseling. The result? More lives characterized by the joy
and peace found only in Jesus Christ.
Thus, on Wednesday nights
for the month of July, FFC will offer four weeks of adult classes as a
“dry run” for “Family Life Focus Classes, which will be held in
September & October. Five different classes will be offered, each one
lasting four weeks. |

Anger
Rick
Williamson & Matt Rigerman (Faith Fellowship Biblical Counselors) &
David Froese |
|
| |
Ever wonder what anger really is? Is it possible for anger to be
glorifying to God? Is there such a thing as righteous anger? If there
is righteous anger, what about sinful anger? Is it okay to internalize
or externalize our anger? How do we address our anger that we may give
God the glory? Do women get angry? How do you deal with an angry
person, especially if they are your spouse? These are all questions that
have Biblical answers and Biblical solutions. Join us this July for
four weeks of sessions devoted to this topic. |

Depression
Richard Caputi (MD and Faith Fellowship Biblical Counselor), Cheryl
Mearig (PharmD) & Monica Fronczak (RPh) |
|
| |
Life gives a significant amount of pain and pressure. In trying to make
sense of life’s complexities, many fall into depression. If you have
ever felt down, blue, discouraged, and can’t seem to shake it, you are
not the only one.
There is a lot of misunderstanding about feelings and
depression, and what God says about it. It will help you to know that
losing joy is no one else’s fault! God’s Way is not the deceptive,
feel-good, man-centered psychological approach of the victim that the
world has to offer, which ignores our sin and God’s glory. At FFC
Family Life classes, you’ll have the opportunity to take a medical and
Biblical look that will help you or a loved one deal with depression.
Come to the four week class on depression beginning Wed. July 4, and
learn how to recognize what depression is, and what God’s prescription
is for overcoming the problem Biblically. See you there, and bring
someone with you! |

Fear and
Worry (For Women Only)
Lisa Schmidt and Erin Polkowski (Faith Fellowship
Biblical Counselors) |
|
|
The motto of many
Christians today seems to be, “Why trust when you can worry?” Some
realize it is wrong and try to hide their worry by giving it titles such
as “concerned,” “troubled,” “disturbed,” “interested,” or “bothered.”
Regardless of the term used, worry saps our energy, drains our joy,
destroys evangelism, and aggravates many physical ailments.
Unfortunately, worry is also contagious—easily caught and fearfully
experienced.
Do you want to live a life free of sinful worry and fear?
Then, bring a friend and please join us on Wednesday nights this July as
we discover the biblical solutions to worry, the keys to overcoming
fear, and living life confidently in Christ! |

Pastor Bob & Ruth Froese and Pastor Steve & Beth
Seibel |
|
| |
Do you want help
overcoming the pain, anger, and loneliness of divorce? Do you know how
tough divorce is on kids? Do you want to grow in your relationship with
them, helping them survive divorce and whatever comes next? How to you
approach future relationships?
These questions above, and more, will be answered Biblically
for those joining this four week class offered in July. If you want
help, or want to help a loved one, this is the class for you. See you
there! |

Training
Children
Steve & Lisa Woodard and Bob & Brigette Jourdian |
|
| |
Do you desire children that like you or that love you? Are there
days that you wonder where they came from and why they act the way they
do?
There are lots of books, counselors, TV shows all willing to
offer advice on how to raise children – no one is short of opinions or
ideas on the correct way to raise children. However you’ve probably
found that many sources are in direct conflict with one another over how
to raise children. Which raises the question of what is the goal of
raising children? So they won’t embarrass you? So they’ll be productive
members of society? That they’ll have good jobs someday? Or that they
will be responsible enough to take care of you when you are older?
At FFC we desire to raise a generation that follows after
Jesus Christ. Prov. 22:6 says “raise a child in the way he should go and
when he is old he will not depart from it”. In the “Training Children”
class we will be looking at these questions from a Biblical perspective
and examining the roles of mothers, fathers and children. We will
address discipline with the focus on the ultimate goal!” |
